Psychology and Psychiatry
Psychology and psychiatry involve some “talking therapy” due to the fact that a lot of treatments are a discussion-based therapy between a patient and specialist, such as a Psychologist or registered Psychiatrist. Psychology works to treat many psychological issues and Psychiatry assists with psychiatric disorders and medication. They are both some of the most common treatment methods for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and addictions.
There are many different variations of methods used within the fields of psychology and psychiatry and therapists can specialise in certain treatment methods. Depending on your own personal requirements and issues, different psychology methods of treatment or psychiatric approaches may be more beneficial than others. Through a good working relationship between the client and therapist, together they can work to resolve many issues and destructive patterns to help the client to lead a normal and productive life once again.
